Packing for Cat Ba in December: Keep a Dry Layer Separate

For a December bay outing, a dry layer can be more useful than an overfilled suitcase.

For a December bay outing, a dry layer can be more useful than an overfilled suitcase. Pack according to the forecast and the activities you have actually booked, keeping the clothes you will wear afterwards separate from the activity bag.

Build two small sets

Use one set for the outing and one protected set for the return or evening. Include the personal items you need for sun, wind or light rain according to the current forecast. Footwear should suit the operator's boarding and activity instructions rather than just a photograph of the destination.

Check what the tour supplies

Ask about equipment, towels and any specialist items before relying on them. An inclusion on one product is not an inclusion on every Cat Ba departure. For an overnight stay, check cabin facilities in the selected category rather than the vessel's most expensive room.

Keep electronics protected and leave unnecessary valuables at your accommodation where appropriate. Packing lightly should reduce the number of items you manage around boats and transfers, while preserving the one thing that matters after time outdoors: something comfortable and dry to change into.
