Cat Ba Fishing: Should You Choose the Morning or Afternoon Session?

Choose a fishing session by your travel day and comfort, rather than assuming one time always produces more fish.

Choose a fishing session by your travel day and comfort, rather than assuming one time always produces more fish. Tide & Tackle currently lists a morning session of 07:00–11:30 and an afternoon session of 12:30–18:00. These published windows have different lengths, so confirm the exact plan for your date.

When the morning fits

A morning session can leave the later day free, but requires an early start and a confirmed pickup. Stay on Cat Ba the previous night rather than expecting an incoming transfer to connect directly with a 07:00 departure. Check any onward journey against the actual drop-off, not just the boat return.

When the afternoon fits

The later session may suit guests who want a slower morning. It finishes later, so avoid a tight evening departure from the island. One lunch or dinner at a floating restaurant is included according to the selected session; ask which meal applies to your confirmation.

Neither window guarantees a catch or fixed fishing location. Tell the team your arrival and departure times first, then ask which available session is practical. Keep the rest of that half-day flexible for harbour and hotel transfers.
