Choose your Lan Ha Bay day tour by how many people share the boat, what the boat offers and how your group likes to spend the day. Headline price comes after that, because the tours below differ more in format than their photos suggest.
Details come from our current tour listings, checked on 1 November 2026. Each name links to the live page, which shows today’s price and any changes.

Choose by group
Two people who want a quieter day. Start with Hidden Tides or Tide & Tackle, the two smallest listed groups, if kayaking or fishing appeals; availability is confirmed on request. For a larger boat, compare the Full-Day tour and Serenity Boutique. Choose the Full-Day tour for its listed two-hour kayaking session and Ba Trai Dao swim. Choose Boutique for a three-deck boat, a welcome drink and a slower pace.
Friends who want to do everything. The two 50–65 guest cruises list a varied day of swimming, kayaking and island stops. With the higher listed capacity, expect a shared schedule. The Viet Hai version adds time on land.
A confident paddler. Kayak Explorer gives you two paddling sessions in one day. It finishes at 17:45, and its availability is confirmed on request. If your group includes children, ask first, as children are accepted on request.
Families. Compare the listed difficulty first: Serenity Boutique, Serenity Grandeur and the Monkey Island cruise are rated Easy, while the Full-Day tour and Viet Hai cruise are Easy-Medium. Grandeur’s 10:30 pickup also gives you a slower morning, with a pool on board for anyone not kayaking.
Five or more guests. The Full-Day tour and Serenity Boutique both list a group discount from five guests. The tour page works out your total, so compare it with your full party entered, not the price for one person.
Forty or more. Serenity Grandeur lists a buffet for groups of 40+, which makes it the natural first enquiry. Contact us before you book so we can check space for your date.
Compare the total, not the first number
A lower headline price can be the right choice, but compare it fairly:
- Hotel transfer. Check that pickup from your Cat Ba Town accommodation is included.
- Drinks. Listed as extra on the six larger-boat tours, though Boutique includes a welcome drink and a bottle of water, and Grandeur a welcome drink.
- Kayaking and swimming kit. The Full-Day tour includes dry-bags and towels. The two 50–65 guest cruises include a mask and snorkel.
- Extras. Jet ski and banana boat rides on Grandeur are not included.
- Children. Child rules are not the same on every tour, so enter real ages on the booking page.
Use the current tour catalogue to compare fares for your date, and read these seven checks before paying any operator.

Two details to settle before paying
Your onward travel. All of these tours except the morning Tide & Tackle session are listed to finish at 17:00 or later, after our latest listed buses to Hanoi and Ninh Binh. Read can you leave Cat Ba after a day tour before you fix your dates.
The route on the day. Treat named stops as the plan, not a promise. Weather and sea conditions can change the order or the stops themselves, so ask what the alternative would be if a stop you care about is unavailable.
